The terms that apply once GNC Funerals is engaged to arrange a funeral.
These Funeral Service Terms & Conditions apply once you engage GNC Funerals to arrange a funeral, and should be read together with our general Terms & Conditions and our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
A funeral service booking is only confirmed once agreed directly with GNC Funerals, whether in person, telephonically or in writing — not simply by browsing this website or submitting an online enquiry.
We arrange the funeral according to your family’s instructions and, where applicable, the terms of your funeral plan. Details are confirmed with the family before the service.
Families are required to provide the necessary documentation for a funeral to proceed, as required by law and by GNC Funerals. Our team will guide you through exactly what is needed when you engage our services, whether in person or telephonically.
Collection of the deceased is arranged as agreed with the family, subject to logistical and legal requirements.
Hearse and family vehicle transport is provided as part of your confirmed arrangement or plan, subject to availability.
The deceased is cared for in dignified mortuary storage from the time of collection until the service.
Coffins and caskets are provided according to your confirmed plan or cover, or as separately arranged. Where a specific item is not available, we will discuss a suitable alternative with the family before proceeding.
Burial is coordinated with the relevant cemetery in line with your family’s wishes and any applicable municipal or cemetery requirements. GNC Funerals is not responsible for cemetery-specific rules or requirements outside our control.
Hearse and family vehicles are provided as included in your plan or as separately arranged, with the number and type of vehicles confirmed with the family.
Tents, chairs and church equipment (such as a trolley or screen) are provided as included or arranged, subject to availability and site access.
Other services, such as printed programmes or a memorial photo, are provided as included in your plan or as arranged.
Some products or services may be provided with the help of third-party suppliers. We will do our best to facilitate this, but we are not liable for matters outside our reasonable control caused by a third-party supplier.
We will accommodate changes requested by the family wherever reasonably possible. Changes may affect pricing, availability or timing, and will be discussed with you before being carried out.
GNC Funerals will not be held liable for delays or changes caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including third-party delays, weather, documentation delays, or matters at the burial site.
Payment terms are agreed directly with GNC Funerals as part of confirming your arrangement, and will be explained to you clearly at that time by our team.
Outstanding balances remain payable in line with the terms agreed with GNC Funerals. Please contact our office directly on 011 264 1306 if you have any questions about an outstanding balance.
Please see our Refund & Cancellation Policy for details on cancelling a funeral arrangement or product order.
We take reasonable care of personal belongings of the deceased that are handed into our care. We recommend families keep a record of any items provided to us.
Information relating to the deceased and the family is treated confidentially and is only used or shared as necessary to arrange and carry out the funeral. See our Privacy Policy for more detail.
If you have any concerns about our service, please contact us directly so we can resolve them. [INSERT RELEVANT INDUSTRY BODY / OMBUD, IF APPLICABLE] Nothing in these terms affects any right you may have to escalate an unresolved matter under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.
